Karina Gerhardt-Strachan, MA

When it comes to health and health promotion, there is a strong focus on the body and physical health. Yet the underlying mental, emotional and spiritual factors are just as important but often taken less into consideration. Karina was raised in a holistic manner, with an emphasis on the wellbeing of BodyMindSpirit. However, during her undergraduate degree in Health Studies she noticed the component of spiritual health missing in the discussions of health and health promotion. This awareness prompted her leading-edge Master’s thesis research, exploring the place of spirituality in Canadian health promotion.

Her most recent certification in Clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), a powerful stress-relief tool also colloquially known as tapping, has allowed her to further bridge science and spirituality. Karina enjoys combining the evidence-based tool of EFT tapping and being a spiritual guide.
